So Much Love For The Dog And Hat Love Subscription Box

It's review time! Feeling the urge to get a Coffee Subscription box? Let's take a look and Dog And Hat Love.

I'll be honest, there are a LOT of Coffee Subscription boxes out there. I had a few subscriptions in the past for a bag of beans every month posted through my door, which was handy, but I ended up just buying as I went in the end. Dog And Hat Love reached out to me back in January and asked if I wanted to try their subscription box.

Well, it arrived, and instantly I could tell it was going to be pretty special. The box had their logo hand stamped on the front. Upon opening ,

everything was wrapped carefully in tissue paper and beautifully presented. Inside were 3 bags of coffees from different roasters, a little bit of info about Dog And Hat, a sticker (wooooooo!) and a booklet full on information on the roasters and coffees included in the box.

So, let's talk a little bit about Dog And Hat and what they do. They offer a range of different subscription boxes to suit what you would like and even an International box, which I am very keen to sign up for soon! Here is the breakdown of what they offer:

(At the time of writing)

  • 2 bags - £17

  • 3 bags - £24

  • 4 bags - £31

  • 2 bags (International Roasters) - £24

As well as getting delicious coffee dropped off at your doorstep every month, you will be a part of their members area where you can purchase discounted products, buy extra coffee if it was just too good and didn't last long enough, and switch your subscription if you fancy it.

As well as fuelling their subscribers with coffee, Dog And Hat focus on Sustainability with what they do. All their packaging is recyclable (everyone do the happy dance) and, AND all their paper that they use is recycled. Not only that, but customers can send back their old coffee bags to be recycled. Winner.

The three coffees I received were:

  • Muungano from Blak Nektar. This one was a full on party in a cup with Citrus, Lime and Pineapple coming through on the Kalita Wave.

  • Sip Me Baby One More Time (love how fun these guys are with their names!) from Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters. I brewed this as Espresso a lot and got toffee, apple and plum. It was a beaut.

  • The third coffee was Altos De Saraguallas from Redemption Roasters (great ethos behind this roaster, check them out). For this coffee I fired up the Aeropress, bringing out some lemon drop and glace cherry notes. Superb!

So, if you're considering a Subscription box, these guys are awesome! A super friendly bunch of people providing a fantastic service and Coffee experience. Trying this box out led me to discover new Roasters which was great, and the whole premise behind my name for what I do - exploring the world of coffee. So, I think I'm going to need a subscription box in my life now! I am keen to hear your thoughts. Do you have one? Do you like the idea of them? Let me know!
