Let's Look At The Batch Coffee Subscription Box
Batch Coffee are a subscription box featuring some of the UK's top Coffee Roasters. They offered to send one over for me to try, so let's take a look!
First Impressions
So, first things first, the colours and branding for Batch Coffee are lovely. I love the pastel shades! It's a very fun look and made me very excited to brew!
What I really like about this is they put the coffee into their bags, give you some information on the Roaster, process, origin etc, but they don't put any flavour notes on the bag. I really enjoyed this, because it took all preconceptions away so I could dive right in and try the coffee for myself. I wrote down flavour notes and aromas and after, used the QR code to see what Batch has written about the coffee. The QR code is their write up about the Roaster, the sourcing of the coffee, flavour notes and cupping experience. It gives a very in depth look into the coffee which is great.
It adds a fun element of discovering what you get out of the coffee, as sometimes I think flavour notes can impact our tasting experience.
What's Included?
Each box features two 200g bags of coffee, you can have wholebean or select a grind. My box contained a washed Columbian from Terrone Roasters and a Natural Brazil from St Martin's Roasters.
Both the Columbian and Brazil had some chocolatiness going on , the Columbian I really enjoyed in the Chemex, The Brazil I loved brewing in my Kalita Wave.
You can select how frequently you would like your box to arrive, whole bean or ground, then it will arrive at your door, ready for you to brew and enjoy.
Alternatively, if you don't want to commit to a subscription straight away, you can order a one off box from them to try out.
The team at Batch are super friendly and Tom kept me updated throughout the whole process, I loved how excited he was about the coffees being featured.
Go and check them out for an exciting coffee discovery experience, giving you the chance to learn what you taste in the coffees you try, and enjoy the process of taking notes and discovering new roasters!
