Bristol's Best Coffee Shops

We took a day trip to Bristol to explore some coffee shops!

Last month we went on a day trip, summer had arrived! With the weather finally being better, we decided to visit Bristol, a creative and full of life City that we both love. The forecast said sun and 23 degrees, and it wasn't wrong!

We naturally went for cold brews and iced coffees mostly, but had an espresso and filter here and there. Initially, we had a rather large list of Coffee Shops to visit thanks to your recommendations over on Instagram. We realised a few were scattered out of town a bit, so we are planning another visit soon to fit those in, because they look amazing! Keep your eyes peeled for Part 2!

YouTube Vlog of the daytrip here!

Coffee Under Pressure

Coffee Under Pressure was such a cute little Coffee Shop located on Park Street. On foot it was a little walk out of town and it's quite a steep area, but well worth it, being rewarded with such lovely treats!

The staff were super friendly and energetic here, which immediately made us feel welcomed and fired up to taste some coffee!

The vibe of place was dreamy. Light and airy, with natural wood elements and a vintage styled tiled bar, the place was refreshing and inspiring.

A huge meu to choose from, plenty of espresso based drinks and pour over brews (V60). They had a huuuuuuge tea menu too if you're like me and enjoy the occasional tea. Plus, their cake selection was incredible.

Spoiled for choice on the cake selection, a cinnamon bun was ordered, and oh boy it did not disappoint! It was super hot so we opted for an iced Americano and a Cold Brew. Both were lovely sat outside enjoying seeing Bristol City life.

Overall, a great experience and we will go back again! Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Full Court Press

Full Court Press was our second stop for the day. A cute little Coffee Shop located on Broad Street, this shop was my first real speciality Coffee experience in the early days of getting into coffee, many years ago!

It was a very small coffee house, but that added to it's charm! It had a natural, airy feel, with the decor being a bit more dark and moody in places, it created and calm and cosy vibe, and had a vintage/authentic feel. I absolutely loved the touch of the framed coffee bags and cards on the wall as a feature piece. Very creative! It was also filled with cute little trinkets inside, the place was decorated beautifully.

We ordered an Ethiopian Filter and tried an Ou Yang Espresso and sat outside. I really liked their seating area outside, we sat by the window in the shade and sipped away happily.

The coffee was good, and their menu is ever changing with new coffees and roasters. They also have their own roastery located next door, so of course I had to buy a bag of their beans to try. I went for a bag Peru and I can confirm, they were lovely! A cute little place you should pop into for sure!

Society Cafe

Where do I start with this gem of a place?! Wow!

Society cafe have a few locations across the UK, we checked their Instagram out and it looked great, so this one was definitely on our list to try.

Located at Harbourside, Narrow Quay, this place blew us away. The location was stunning, especially on a summers day. Think cobblestone paths and benches by the water. People were playing music, you could watch the boats go by, such a vibe.

It was a larger coffee house which was very busy! Despite being very busy and closing in 30 minutes, the Baristas and staff were super friendly and happy to accommodate us for our coffee fix. They had a great selection of coffees and they had so many bags of beans to choose from to purchase. I went for a bag of Natural Columbian which was one of the best I've had this year!

One thing I got stupidly excited about, was their bottles of cold brew. You helped yourself out of the fridge, they were so cute and sooo tasty!

Drinks wise it had to be an Aeropress. Not many places seem to brew Aeropress, but there it was on the menu, shining gold!

It was such an exciting visit and I was in my element. So many coffees to choose from, to drink in, or bags to take home, welcoming atmosphere and a stunning location. This place had it all, and really did it really well.

Bristol! We will be back!

So that's it! Bristol Coffee shop crawl round 1! There's so many more we want to visit so there will be a round 2 soon! Have you visited any of these gems? I would love to hear your thoughts, comments, and suggestions for more places to visit in Bristol!

Brew what you love, and love what you brew!
